Summer is going by way too fast! So before it comes to an end, make sure Overflo is on your agenda…

This Thursday, July 8, we will conclude our “Happy” series with a great night of fun (some outdoor games), music, insight from scripture, and some laughs with friends!

Then, remember there’s no 727 LIVE for the summer!

Next agenda item, there’s NO Overflo Student Nite on Thursday, July 15 because of BigStuf camp…

Then we’ll begin an all new summer series on July 17/18 at all the weekend services. Yep, you read that right! That weekend is youth weekend where our students will be leading in worship as well as I’ll be speaking. So, what a great time to begin a series. We’ll then continue it on Thursdays.

Wacky Red, White & Blue Nite

I can’t wait for Overflo Student Nite this Thursday! With it being WACKY RED WHITE & BLUE NITE, dress up to show your 4th of July spirit! If you want to paint your face blue or dye your hair red, go for it! But at a minimum, wear at least something patriotic! We’re gonna give out a few prizes for outfits!

Now that isn’t going to be the only “wacky” thing about the night! We’re going to do some things different! So make sure you are here at OSN! Never know what to expect…

Mission Trip 2010…Incredible!

On Wednesday, June 9, six Overflo Students who won the points challenge packed their bags and went on an all expenses paid trip to Nashville, Tennessee. Now there was a catch, they were actually winning a trip to serve. Kinda crazy for winning a trip to serve by serving faithfully to win!

Norman, Josh, Juhlya, Amanda, Daylen, and Rachel were about to make a huge difference in Nashville! Once we all got there (including Pastor Barry, Laura, and Davis) we took a tour of the city then got to the hotel for some much needed rest after a long two days of travel. Friday morning we got to the church building that we would be rehabbing (Axis Church pastored by church planter Jeremy Rose). Here’s what we arrived to…

Now, we didn’t let it stop us that the A/C was broke where we would be working inside! So we rolled up our sleeves for the next 3 days and made a difference in the life of Axis Church!

Here’s the church building after scrubbing floors and walls and getting it ready for paint…

One project for half a day included rehabbing the outside of an apartment complex.…

Here we are saying our good-byes to Jeremy and Jacob from Axis Church!

An unbelievable opportunity to serve! We went through 75 gallons of primer and paint, took down an awning, swept floors and washed wash, painted flower bed walls, planted plants, weed eated some property, set up and take down at the Axis Church service.

Now in the midst of all of it, we had a lot of fun! We ate at some really cool places, hung out among downtown Nashville, had a great pool party at a friend’s house and then concluded it all with a Braves game while coming through Atlanta…

Well, after 8 days, we arrived safely back in Palm Coast! An incredible week! Life changing!

Got summer plans? Well, Guess what? Life isn’t designed to be dull, boring, or sad. In fact, God wants you to be happy! But God’s definition of happiness is quite different from the way our culture interprets and promotes. God doesn’t want us to focus our energy and efforts on pursuing happiness that is defined by our… feelings and emotions. Instead, we can seek happiness that is experienced as we follow God’s plan—and as we’re fueled by God’s power.

Start off your summer at Overflo Student Nites! Beginning this Thursday, June 10 at 6:45pm, we’ll kick off a six-week series that will challenge you to pursue God-style happiness!

2 quick things…

1. A big night coming to OSN on this Thursday, June 3 as we play Overflo’s Minute to Win It! It will be a night of challenges and someone will walk away with $100! Everyone can be a part. Invite a friend ‘cause you and your guest get an additional ticket to play in the game!

2. It’s the Generation Change finale’ this Saturday, June 5 at 727 LIVE. Free Pizza for all attending! Then you’ll enjoy your summer break from 727 LIVE. We’ll get back in gear with a “Fall Kick Off” party on Saturday, August 28.

The Madness of May

Hope your week is already starting off to be a good one! Let me be honest, it’s kinda hard to get back in the swing after taking an 11 day vacation. And yes, vacation is just around the corner for you! Wow, just 2 more weeks of school!

Couple things…

1. How about all the students attending 727 LIVE’s Generation Change? I think you are really enjoying it. I’ve heard great comments from many about the break out times. Plus John Skripko is hitting it out of the park. We’ll be off this Saturday, May 29 then return for a Generation Change finale’ on Saturday, June 5. Then you’ll enjoy your summer break from 727 LIVE. We’ll get back in gear with a “Fall Kick Off” party on Saturday, August 28.

2. Come on out to this week’s finale’ of “All My Belongings” at OSN! We’ll be taking a twist on something I usually tell you to avoid in life.

3. And then there’s a big night coming to OSN on Thursday, June 3 as we play Overflo’s Minute to Win It! It will be a night of challenges and someone will walk away with $100! Everyone can be a part. We’ll do a couple more practice games this week!

4. Congrats again to Norman, Juhlya, Daylen, Rachel S., Josh P., and Amanda C. for winning the challenge for the Mission Trip 2010 to Nashville, TN. Now if you have been hiding under a rock, we’ve moved the trip up a couple months to June 9-16 due to the recent flooding in Nashville. This trip will be a life changer, I believe.

Exciting Stuff

Wow! It has been so busy around Overflo! And I’m sure things have been crazy busy in your life. Just think… school is almost done. Keep working hard with your school work and before you know it, it will be summer!

In the meantime, here’s a few things happening around Overflo:

1. Make sure you are part of the “Wear All My Belongings” Night this Thursday, May 13 at Overflo Student Nite! We’re asking everyone to wear as many pieces of belonging as possible (like layers and layers of clothing, jewelry, hats). Some one is going to win the wildest belongings and someone’s gonna win the most belongings. Never know what categories we’ll come up with too, so go all out!

2. Generation Change continues this Saturday at 727 LIVE. It has been awesome. This week is week #3 so bring your books and be ready. Also, we have week #4 on Saturday, May 22 and then have off on the 22^nd of May for Memorial Day Weekend. Great news is… we are giving you an extra week of Generation Change which will be Saturday, June 5.

3. Because of the major devastation with flooding in Nashville, TN, we are moving up our Mission Trip 2010! Instead of August, we will be heading to Nashville on Wednesday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 16. Yep, right after school gets out on the 9^th, we are heading out! Since the change is taken place, the points challenge ended officially yesterday. Now, this Thursday at OSN, we will be announcing the winners of this trip. The top 3 guys and 3 girls will be unveiled!

Updatin’ Ya

1. Invite a friend and be a part of OSN this Thursday, April 22 as we close out our “Hooked” series!

2. Then be at 727 LIVE this Saturday, April 24 as we wrap up our series “Friends in the Dark”. Two students are going to win a trip to Outback for coming all 3 weeks (April 10, 17, 24).

3. Graduating seniors- Senior night at Overflo Student Nite. On Thursday, April 29 we will be honoring all graduating seniors. Now if you are one of them, you are invited along with your parents to a catered dinner here at Parkview at 6pm on that evening. Also, I want you to find another graduating senior from your school and invite them along with their parents! Then we’ll all join in with some fun as we honor you with your friends at OSN. Graduating seniors, see me this Thursday to get you and your parents signed up!

4. We are going to be attending the Passion Play at Riverbend Church in Ormond this Sunday, April 25! All students and parents are invited to attend this incredible presentation of the life of Christ. We will be departing Parkview at 12:30pm and return around 6pm. The cost is FREE. Now you will want to bring a few bucks because we’ll stop for lunch on the way down. I only have 10 tickets left so see me this Thursday at OSN!

Easter and More

Well, Easter weekend is here! What a great time to reflect on what Christ gave us through His death, burial, and resurrection! It’s awesome to know that we serve a risen Savior! We are looking forward to all those who will experience life change at one of the five weekend services at Parkview. Speaking of the weekend services, just like any other weekend, there will be 30-40 Overflo students serving in some capacity. Wow, students, you are guiding people to life change whether singing in the choir or holding a baby in the nursery. Great job students!

Now with Easter upon us, that means spring break is wrapping up! I trust you had a great week. Hopefully, you caught up on your sleep. Ya know, it seemed weird not having student nite this past Thursday. I did enjoy the break though because we did some family stuff!

Now here’s what’s cool… we begin our brand new series this Thursday, April 8…

Then we begin a new series at 727 LIVE on Saturday, April 10….

Almost Spring Break

This Thursday, March 25 is going to be the finale’ of the “Power of Sex” series. Now here’s the deal… we are going to be focusing on answering your questions from the question box. Also, you need to look your best too. Got something planned that’s pretty cool. So guys, comb your hair. Ladies, umm….. Well ,you get the point. Just be here and see! Fun game or two as well. Invite a friend! See you at 6:45pm!

727 LIVE concludes our current series “An Eye-opener of the New Testament”. Now if you missed week #1 and #2, please come out this Saturday! We’ve taken the game level up a notch! Remember, you must have attended all three weeks of this series to be eligible for the $50 drawing!

Spring break is just a few days ahead! Well, let’s have some fun! On Monday, March 29 from 9am to 4pm, Overflo is heading to Jacksonville for a day of fun at the Orange Park Mall and Adventure Landing! We’ll be at the mall for a few hours and eat lunch there at the food court (bring a few $$$). Then we’ll head to Adventure Landing in Orange Park. There you’ll enjoy a great time with go-carts, mini golf, and laser tag. The cost is only $20 which includes a wrist band to do 4 things from the 3 listed above. So that means you can ride go carts once, twice, or even all four times. Best is to split it up then do your favorite once more. Adventure Landing also features a great arcade and other games such as a batting cage. You’ll need some extra $$ if you want to take advantage of these. Now you must prepay the $20 by Saturday, March 27! Invite a friend!
