This, That, and The Other

This past weekend…phenomenal!  I am so stoked at how well all the students did that were a part of “United – Youth Style” at all three weekend services!  The band and vocalists did a great job.  Pretty cool that we led Parkview in three new songs.  Also, everyone who took part in the Cardboard Testimony video..great job!  Oh yeah, thanks too to the students who helped around our campus as volunteers!  All in all…awesome!  Nothing better than showing the life change in Christ!  Proud of y’all!

This Thursday…gonna be crazy!  It’s “Nerd Nite” at Overflo Student Nite.  Some grab a wild outfit and dress up for “Nerd Nite”!  There will be prizes awarded for best dressed!  Can’t wait to see some of the creativity!  Got a game, cool music, and a lot of loud fun as we continue in our “Bulls Eye Living” series!  Invite a friend!

This Saturday…you better be a part!  We’re taking off the night from 727 LIVE and we’re heading the “Silver Ring Thing” Rally in Daytona.  Don’t know about that yet?  Well, here’s an awesome opportunity for you to gather with about 1,000 other students at First Baptist in Daytona and be encouraged through dramas, skits, worship, and speaking on the area of purity.  Cost is only $5. We’ll be departing from Parkview at 5pm SHARP.  You must be signed up and paid by this Thursday, November 5.

Stoked about This Thursday!

We begin a brand new series this Thursday, October 29 and WE WANT YOU TO BE HERE!!!!

So grab a friend and come on out!  We’ve got a great night planned!

I want YOU to be here this Thursday night. Here’s why. Last year, on Thursday, October 23, 2008 to be exact, we featured a one night special of “Lock Up Your Life” which included each one of us “locking up” a list of three things that would provide life change over the next year. You may have listed an area you were struggling with, or a sin in your life. Once it was completed, each person put it in the safe and it has been locked up since then. Now, we will “Unlock Your Life” this coming Thursday night! Now I realize a couple of things will transpire, 1. You will feel awkward because you didn’t follow through with it (that’s okay, there’s still time in your life to work on it!), 2. You weren’t here last year so you feel left out on in the cold. (that’s okay, you’re not. Come on out because there’s something planned that will include you). So basically, no excuses! See you this Thursday!

3 Must Do’s

Hey y’all!  Did you have a good weekend?  I don’t know about you, but just having that one Saturday off from 727 LIVE every so often is so nice!  Plus an added bonus was taking 9 of our students to the Third Day concert at the Amphitheater in St. Augustine last night.  We had a great time.  The best part about it was getting to know two brand new students that have been only coming for two months.  They rode with Stuart Knob )an Overflo student) and me, so I was able to find out a lot about them.  They’re excited at what is taking place at Overflo.  Oh yeah, speaking of Stuart, would you believe that out of the 3,000 that were there, Stuart got close to the band and shouted out a request.  Mac Powell was taking back that Stuart would request a song that old.  He commented, “You weren’t even born when that song came out.”  Mac Powell then asked him what his name was.  Cool stuff.  Stuart will never forget that.

All right, here’s the deal.  3 Must Do’s sounds really weird, but hey, they’re “must do’s” for Overflo students!

If you have a little free time on Wednesday, join me at Fields of Faith event at Matanzas High School theater this Wednesday from 6-8:30 pm. This will be a time of unity and community amongst our student bodies.  It’s a great night of testimony, prayer, worship, and drama.. all conducted by students.  I want to see you there! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, don’t forget that 727 LIVE is back in action this Saturday, October 17 for a 2 week series on “identity.”  Come and get plugged into a small group.  Oh yeah, there’s a great give-away coming to 727 LIVE.  I’ll be announcing it on Saturday!

N Joy the Wknd!

Well, it is Friday!  TGIF!  We had a great night at Overflo Student Nite last night.  I loved the skit.  Hopefully, you enjoyed the night.  Now if you missed out, you better be back next week.  Got a great game planned as well as you’ll hear all that’s coming up at Overflo.  Trust me, there’s lots!

I am looking forward to the weekend.  Actually, mine has already started as Friday is my day off!  Here’s what we’ve done so far as a family….

Yep, Laura, Davis and I went on an 8 mile bike ride!  Okay, he slept the whole ride, but it was still a lot of fun.  Just really hot.  Now we’re chilling out until we head out for Seth’s birthday party tonight.  It’s at Cici’s so much pizza consumption will take place!

Now, enjoy your Saturday night off from 727 LIVE.  It’s just a one week breather, but hey, better than nothing!  Now I do expect to see you at a weekend service this weekend.  Matter a fact, just for reading this, if you find me at a weekend service and tell me you read this blog, I will give you a free beverage and snack voucher for next week’s Overflo Cafe’.

You Been On Vacation?

All right, here’s the deal.  I realize I was out of town for a few days last week, but where you been?  Overflo Student Nights have been awesome here lately!  Attendance has been great until last week.  Now I know homecoming weekend was upon us, and that the swine flu is overtaking us, but come on…. you better be here this Thursday night @ 6:45pm.  We’ll continue in our series “Increasing Your Confidence”!  Plus there will be great music, the cafe, a skit, and your friends!

One Big Thing This Week!

Please invite your parent(s) to come with you to Overflo Student Night this Thursday, September 24!  We’re gonna have some fun at “Family Nite”!  Now, don’t be like, “It ain’t cool to hang out with my parents”  because, I got your back and it’s gonna be fun.  In all actuality, I believe it is going to be to your benefit. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Family Nite” will consist of the drama team, the Overflo band, a couple hilarious games, and a challenge to you and the parents.  And if that isn’t enough, I will be giving away some gift cards and prizes.  Now you have to bring at least one parent to be eligible to win.  Oh yeah, I will also be talking about some upcoming activities as well as summer camp next year!

Now if you can’t get a parent to attend with you, that’s cool.  Invite a friend, grandparent, or just come by yourself!  The Overflo Café will open at 6:30pm.  Maybe your parent(s) will even pay for your snacks!

Well, there’s a lot more to tell you like 727 LIVE continues this Saturday, September 26 or tickets are available for the Third Day concert on Sunday, October 11 for $25, but I don’t want to take up anymore of your time because you need to invite your parent(s) to “Family Nite”.

Four Day Week of School

Nothing better than cutting out a day of school, is there?  Hopefully, you enjoyed the day off on Monday.  I did!  It was kinda a slow day that consisted of a little house cleaning (yes, I like to help out every so often), a 3 mile bike ride (don’t laugh, you’ll be my age someday and trying to stay fit), hung out with Laura and Davis which included a trip out to the beach for a little walk and some Italian water ice (and some of the fam joined us so Davis liked hanging out with Seth). 

Well, it is already Tuesday and Thursday’s Overflo Student Night will be here before you know it!  Gonna be a great finale to the “Crossroads” series.

Before I let you go, here’s a few things for you…

1. 727 LIVE is back in action this Saturday night.  Our new season is gonna be fun, challenging, and so much more.  I want everyone to be part!  Here’s a question to get you thinking about 727 LIVE… “Are you confusing your parents the same way Jesus confused his?”  See you at 727!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Thanks for all the great response to Student Impact.  SI is a great way to get plugged in to serving here at Parkview and Overflo.  Right now we are over 55 students that are either serving or want to serve.  These range from lawn team, choir, nursery, SonZone, tech and many more.  If you filled out a form a couple weeks ago and did not receive a phone call or email about it, please let me know on Thursday.  Also, if you didn’t fill out a card, you can seize the opportunity this Thursday as well!

3. You here about Funday Friday?  On Friday, September 18 at 6pm, Overflo will be hosting a pizza party and then we’ll be heading to First Baptist PC to see the Strength Team live.  They are a group of world champion athletes who will display incredible fetes of strength by breaking blocks, ripping phone books in half and all kind of crazy stuff.  It will be awesome.  Sign up this Thursday.  Only $5 for a whole night of fun!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. And lastly, please check in at Overflo Student Night as soon as you arrive.  We have created a better way so come in and get checked in!  Everyone will be required to wear your armband to get into OSN that you receive once you check in!

Past, Present, & Future

Well, how was the weekend? I’ll bet you tried to catch up on some sleep after cutting it short the previous Monday through Friday due to school. BTW, how is school going? Hopefully, you are not tired of it yet!

Overflo has been really busy over the past few days! We hosted the annual “Back 2 School Blast” last Thursday night. That was a lot of fun. I hope you made it. If you didn’t…shame on you! There were quite a few guests as well as a great overall attendance! It was also a great kick off to the new series “Crossroads.” Then it was onto Saturday night for 727. There were 33 students that came out for a kick off to our all new 727 beginning Saturday, September 12. We didn’t start any new material; it was just a time to get reacquainted after being off the summer. Oh yeah, we played some pretty crazy games too. As a reminder, there is no 727 this Saturday night to the Labor Day weekend. Just be back in your place though on September 12! 727 is gonna be bigger and better. Sign up this Thursday night!
